Nairobi is a county in Kenya, designated as County 047, established under Kenya’s 2010 Constitution, and came into power for the first time after the 2013 General Elections. Nairobi is also Kenya’s capital City, and it has a population of more than 1.4 Million Residents.
The county itself is split into 17 sub-counties and 85 electoral wards. The sub-counties are the electoral units, known as Constituencies, represented by Members of Parliament at the national level, and the Electoral wards are represented by Members of the County Assembly.
The administrative structure of Nairobi County operates from the County Executive, comprising the Governor and 10 CEC members, down to the Sub-County Administrators, then Ward Administrators, and ultimately, Chiefs overseeing villages.
